Eneloop Battery

The ENELOOP battery, developed by Sanyo. It is the first rechargeable battery to combine the advantages of a conventional disposable battery with those of a rechargeable one. Thanks to its exceedingly low self-discharge, the "eneloop" reaches the shops charged, meaning that it is ready for immediate use. Neither does a lengthy storage period present a problem any longer – even after one year, the "eneloop" still has around 85 percent of its charge and, what is more, it can be recharged around 1,000 times before it needs to be replaced.

This makes this rechargeable battery an environmentally friendly alternative to the conventional disposable battery.
