Lenovo to test-market sub-$200 PC in Philippines

The third largest PC maker and manufacturer of Thinkpad laptops - Lenovo, prepares to introduce budget PCs aimed at entry-level users. The company would bring to the Philippines -- on a test-market basis -- a PC priced below $200 per unit - less than P10,000 at current exchange rates.

This would be done “within the year.”

It was not clear what would be the specs of the said PC, what processor and other parts but the report states that the said sub-$200 PC would be a device with the basic functionality required by everyday computer users.
