Acer to acquire Gateway

AMD swallowed the red pill, and that is ATI. HP acquired Compaq and VoodooPC. Dell acquired Alienware thus they're sometimes nicked as "Dellienware". Lenovo acquired the PC division of IBM. Hitachi Desktar acquired IBM's harddrive division.

Now, Taiwan's Acer will acquire the US computer maker Gateway for $710 million deal as reported here.

It will push them as the world's third largest vendor of personal computers.

AMD having trouble, in my opinion is also ready for acquisition. IBM or Samsung, are you interested? It will certainly give Intel a run for its money. :)
